Lois Holmes, LISW

Lois Holmes, LISW has over 15 years of experience working with individuals, families and within the community. She is a Certified Resolve Through Sharing Counselor and Coordinator. Prior to private practice, Lois worked in the Sioux City School District and Sergeant Bluff-Luton School District as a School Therapist. She was also Co-Facilitator for the Siouxland ALS Support Group and had founded and Co-Facilitated the HEARTS (Helping Empty Arms Recover Through Sharing) Support Group to assist parents, families and friends in coping with the loss of a child through miscarriage, Ectopic Pregnancy, or Stillbirth.

Lois has also worked in the home health medical field as a Medical Social Worker and also with the Boys and Girls Home and Family Services both with the residential and out patient clientele. Lois has assisted individuals with crisis intervention, family therapy case management, conflict resolution and grief and bereavement. Her various specialty practices include but are not limited to; Play and Art Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), group work, Client Centered therapy and Narrative therapy as well as relaxation. Other areas of referral include: bullying issues, depression, Autism Spectrum, ADHD, divorce, change of life and loss, post traumatic stress, chronic pain, and chronic mental illness. Grief and bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder as well as assisting victims of abuse including physical, emotional and sexual. She provides therapy for individuals ranging in age from 4 to Geriatric including LBGTQ.
